The goal of the interior design was to preserve and recall the spirit of the classical Delano and Aldrich residence while creating a comfortable living experience for the family. Based on a master plan assessment of existing finishes, furnishings, lighting artwork, rugs, etc, the entire interior design of the house was restored and interpreted for modern comfort. Existing interior items were removed, salvaged, repaired, stored, and catalogued for reuse and relocation. Furniture was reupholstered and refinished, lighting fixtures rewired and restored, bath fittings restored or replaced, artwork and frames restored or reframed as needed.

Additional new and antique furniture, lighting, rugs, wall coverings, window treatments, bedding and accessories were designed or purchased to complete the interiors. Wall coverings and paint palette followed historic analysis where possible, or were interpreted to compliment antique rugs and significant furnishings, artwork, and other family heirlooms.
